Q: How far in advance can I schedule my hold mail requests?

As far in advance as you want! While the USPS limits you to scheduling 30 days in advance, our service has no scheduling limitations.

Q: How late can I schedule my hold mail requests?

Online hold mail requests can be submitted up to the day before you want your mail to be held (our deadline is midnight EST), but we recommend you schedule your requests as soon as possible.

Q: How long can I request to hold my mail?

Hold mail requests must be for a minimum of 3 days and for a maximum of 30 days.

Q: Can I request multiple hold mail requests? Can I request consecutive hold mail requests?

You can process as many hold mail requests as you would like. We offer unlimited requests while the USPS limits you to only one at a time. Unfortunately, due to restrictions by the USPS, we cannot allow you to schedule consecutive requests. There must be at least one day in between hold mail requests to handle all accumulated mail.

Q: When I schedule a hold mail request, whose mail will be put on hold?

Mail for all residents of the address will be put on hold. The USPS cannot put only one person's mail on hold.

Q: How do I receive my held mail?

That is up to you! When completing your request, you can select to have the carrier deliver held mail or you can pick up your mail at a local post office. Additionally, if you have any special instructions, you can include those in the request as well.

Q: Who is the one actually responsible for holding my mail?

For the duration of your hold mail request, your mail will only be handled by the USPS. USHoldMail.com does not ever physically handle your mail.

Q: What does your service cost?

Our hold mail service is offered without many of the restrictions placed on you by the USPS. We charge a one-time fee of $9.99 for this service. If you'd like to hold your mail directly with the USPS, you can do so for free on their website.

Q: How do I take advantage of my unlimited hold mail requests for one year?

Once you've completed your initial hold mail request, you will receive a confirmation email containing your confirmation number. No additional forms or steps to go through.
